OBJECT ORGAN SUBJECT

This photographic work has the intention to offer the viewer different ways of perceiving femininity, and to dissolve the imposed limits of gender and sex.
By using a symbol that represents the female sexual organ as an unifying concept of sex (this is the provenance of all human beings), we will differentiate between the three ways of understanding femininity; the idea imposed by the socio-cultural constructions (the woman as an object), the physiological (the organ or vagina) and the variable or multiple (the woman as a subject).
This work is a reflection about subjectivism and identity, which will allow women to reaffirm themselves as a subject and not as a canon imposed by society or a consumer good.
THE SELFIE

«I PAINT MYSELF BECAUSE I AM THE SUBJECT I KNOW BEST». - FRIDA KAHLO.
The selfie is the current self-portrait, it allows us to explore and reaffirm our identity, it makes our ego grow and it's a door to our own self expression. Meaningless most of the times, it is as trivial as it is important. It is the contemporary gesture that represents several generations now and a response to the pictorial tradition of classical art.
These paintings and illustrations are the expression of a current woman’s inner universe, and also a paradox where the ancient and the modern coexist.
APPROXIMATELY 30 DEGREES

Refering to all the possibilities of geometrical shapes we can find in nature or around us, this work relates the organic with the mathematical. One interpretation is how 30 degrees, which is a quite closed angle, could become a full open one.
By making an analogy with the individual point of view or the different ways of thinking of people, this work becomes an invitation to transform limited thoughts into an open minded state.
